This can happen when you migrate the character to your own project, due to the correct items not being copied across.

Particularly important steps to check to resolve this issue are:

• you also need to make sure both “Control Rig” and “Enhanced Input” plugins are enabled.
• Copy the “Config” folder over, but please be aware this will override all of your own project settings
  • Alternatively, if you don’t wish to override your settings, export and import the character controls via the project input settings as per the image below.
